Sri Lankan Prints
This is the last of a series of four large canvases I produced as a result of an around-the-world journey I made in the early 1980’s. All 4 were designed utilizing the same format for layout, that of a large black and white photograph appearing to lay atop a broad piece of indigenous batik fabric. All hand-painted, this black &white image is of a wary merchant and a few onlookers in a Sri Lankan marketplace, the “photograph” then appearing as if were laid on top of a graphic details of the batik.
