The Eagle That Calls the Night
“Eagle That Calls in the Night”
40”H x 60”W
Acrylic on Canvas
Only a few steps away from the comfort of painting faces, this was truly a leap of faith and a bit of balls to the wall. I stretched the canvas, prepared it, took it out to the back yard, sprayed it with a water hose, tried to “carefully” throw paint on the upper third area, sprayed it again and swung it around so the pigment would spread. When dried, painted the lower 2/3 black, then sketched and painted in the face, first in B&W, then added all the color war paint, random feathers, owl skull (no eagles available, but this roadkill was), beads, etc.
